a father's love

We are in the middle of a brutal heat wave in Ottawa.

Our air conditioning unit has died. The earliest we can replace it is July 5th.

Last night, at 11:00pm, my spouse was in the kitchen, with the oven on, making granola bars. Our son had asked if he could bring them to his end of school party.

I think he could have been forgiven for insisting that a bag of Doritos would suffice.

He's a very good dad.

Just finding your Blog. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

All I can say is, your a tough chick! Your honesty is what many woman need right now.

I'm a breast cancer survivor, 4 years, diagnosed at age 38. I was fortunate - it was found early.

The best to you! I'll keep checking in...

Good luck with the A/C!!

Ooooh...I'm sending you cool thoughts. I was just talking about how offensive the heat is here. I used to love it when I was younger, but now, just walking outside feels a lot like a slap in the face.

Chris - I will check with Tim. If he has a recipe, you can have it.

Lavender Chick - I love lavender! Welcome to the blog. Yours looks great, too. I look forward to checking it out some more.

Junky's Wife - I know what you mean, re the heat. I was just thinking how it never used to bother me this much.

Finally, Sassymonkey - That is funny...in a bring on the bitter laugh sort of way...

Ugh, the loss of air conditioning would just push push push me right over the edge. Of course, it's 108 here and everything we do in our house is upstairs, where it gets scarily hot without the air running constantly. I hope it at least cools down at night for you. That's one of the things about Vegas in the summer, we have hot nights too.

That was very sweet of your husband to make the granola bars for school. Mmm, that sounds good, homemade granola bars. I can almost smell them cooking.
