1. Reading my book. It's The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill (published as Someone Knows my Name in the US). It is harrowing, beautifully written and very compelling. I can't stop thinking about it.
2. Walking my dog along the canal.
3. Knitting a sock while watching Season Five of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (what's the story with the little sister who appears out of nowhere, anyway?).
4. Having a glass of wine on a patio (OK, so it's too freakin' cold and windy to do that but since I am fantasizing, I am imagining it just warm enough to sit outside).
5. Getting my hair dyed blond.
6. Getting my toes painted purple.
7. Reading about Tibetan Terriers.
8. Having a beer with a bunch of friends.
9. Planning a vacation.
10. Taking VIA 1 to Toronto to hang out with my friends who live there.

rather than what
Rather than doing what I have to do, which is finish my book!
I wish I could be having wine on the deck too!
I just read your review of March -- we as women are so well intentioned. But then life gets in the way! Me? I get discouraged and toss the towel in. You? You get motivated! You're so inspiring!
your toronto friends wish you were here too. also, some of us (not me, alas) have things to say about season 5 of buffy.

Oh, the canal! Another favorite blogger, and a compatriot of yours, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee aka the Yarn Harlot, once wrote of skating it with her family. So fun-looking! Raised in Los Angeles, the first time I skated outdoors was Alaska, and that was cool (no pun intended), but this looks so very Hans Brinker.
Must visit Canada in the winter! Must!
Season Five of Buffy is an intense, beautiful, heartbreaking experience - just go with the feeling and keep your disbelief suspended. On the emotional level, it all totally makes sense, but if you try to think it through, maybe not so much.
