chemo brain or just getting older?

A few days ago, a massive filling popped out when I was brushing my teeth.

I made an appointment with my dentist to go in today. It hurts, so I've been very much looking forward to this appointment, mentioning it a lot and looking forward to being able to chew again.

I was shocked this morning when my dentist's office called, and his assistant said, "You're supposed to be here. Do you remember your filling?"

I hadn't forgotten my appointment or the filling (did I mention it hurts?) but I had been convinced it was at 2pm this afternoon, not 9:20 this morning.

As it turns out, they did have an opening at 2pm, so I will get my tooth fixed this afternoon, after all. As she was hanging up, the assitant said, "It was just a misunderstanding." I responded with "No, I'm an idiot."

Please tell me that this kind of thing happens to you, even if you've never had chemo.

most of the time I feel like I'm going crazy because I can't recall the most simple things...and I think it's all downhill from here.

Thanks for the solidarity. I think. And Nicole- I just snorted out my tea. :-)

Yes, chemobrain is often the culprit in my case, so I'd venture to guess that might be the culprit for you?

I'm glad you are still able to get your tooth repaired.

This happened to me the other day. My medical plan has doctors in several (in)convenient locations. I had an appointment with the Head and Neck specialist that I had waited over a month for. I assumed that since it was with a doctor I had seen before that it was in the same location as before. I got there. checked in, sat down with my crossword, and half an hour later they came out and informed me that it was in another town!

But, like yours, they had another opening where I was and I only had to wait another half hour..

It happens all the time. Bleh!

Absolutely. I blame it on fibro fog. And impending menopause. And... erm... and...

Absolutely.

I booked two meeting. One on Tuesday at 11, one on Thursday at 1... guess when I showed up.

I have no excuse except that I need to write this shit down.

Thanks all- Dianne, glad it worked out for you, too. And yeah, Nat, writin it down makes the difference. And then checking the calendar AFTER i write it down.
