Laurie, Tim, S and D, I am so sorry for your loss. Jasper was a loyal friend and a wonderful companion. He will continue to live on in your stories, memories and of course your hearts. * hugs* Catherine
I have been staying away from these posts. I do not like pets, but I can't stand to see any pet suffer or be harmed...so I guess I care. My kids love knowing about your dog (yes I let them see your dog posts). They didn't seem to mind his passing. For them what was important was that he had a good home with people who loved him (you know all my 4 kids are adopted) so they see the world differently. They think you are amazing to have had a dog that you loved to the end. They think you are lucky. Even now I am crying. and I don't like dogs. But I know something about love. And I know your capacity for love. And I love you from the moment I saw you in San Francisco. So grieve your loss. but remember what my kids said...they are grateful that you loved him to the end.
Oh Laurie, I am so sorry to read this. He was a very very sweet dog. Old soul you said earlier. I could feel that last fall. Take care, hugs for all of you, Karlien
Jasper was the best of dogs. You could tell he truly appreciate his loving home. When I think of the kind of dog I want, I don't think of a breed, I think of Jasper. He loved you all as much as you loved him. That's the way it should be.

I have a friend who keeps 15 dogs in their house. They are like little children and they have a nanny to keep track of them and give them a bath regularly. Amazing how we can get attached to these great creations. I love animals, so I understand how it feels.
I know what it means to love and lose a much loved dog. I'm sorry for your loss. Really nice photos. Thanks for sharing them. There is a nice website called Association for pet loss and bereavement. Don't have the link, but it looked good. Take care.

It's the sign of a life well lived that a dog should be so loved and mourned. Every dog should be so lucky.
Hugs to all of you.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you got 10 years with him.
Laurie,
I am so, so sorry.
