birthday pledge

This is what two other Ottawa women are doing to mark their 40th birthdays:

the warm hands network - finding forty gathering knitting

I think it's pretty inspiring. Shall all those of us who are knitters and crocheters donate at least one thing to charity this year?

Sounds like a great project - however the link in your post doesn't work. I would love to know more aobut how to participate in this.
Also, I am so glad to hear that you had a great time in Chicago. I am sorry I missed the opportunity to contribute. I hope your birthday surpasses all of your expectations!

Happy Birthday! It's an excellent week for birthdays. On Tuesday, we'll be going out for sushi for my b-day, because Todai gives you a free meal on your birthday. :)

Enjoy your vacation, and I look forward to your BlogHer and vacation stories when you get back.

Hell yes, I'll totally crochet for charity. But I can't crochet in a circle at all or do anything other than a single stitch, so I think it's going to have to be a scarf. Boring, but warm, I promise!

Laurie,

Thanks so much for posting on the Warm Hands Network! You are one of the incredible women who inspired us to expand our project. Right now, we collecting for the Innu kids of Northern Labrador. We're also going to be at the Creativ Festival in TO in October, and anyone who drops off a blanket or sweater gets free admission (we've also got a groovy fleece artist draw, and doodads at our booth).

Amy and I were just talking about you as one of our inspirational maevens. Thanks for everything you do!
